The lovely Emily and Elizabeth of Fashion Column Twins recently asked me to participate in a blog tour, in which they introduced their readers to 3 blogs they love. Now it's my turn to return the favor and introduce you guys to 3 awesome blogs.

First up, my very stylish co-worker at Nordstrom, Mary of Art of Wore

1. What am I working on?

Getting back into shape! I had knee surgery a few months ago to fix an old sports injury, and it took forever to start feeling normal again. I've been hitting the gym every morning, working on building back my strength. Surgery put a damper on my summer and I wasn't able to work on many creative projects, like my blog. It was rough, but the light at the end of the tunnel is finally here!

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I like to think that I bring an editor's eye to my blog. I've been working as a writer, editor and stylist in the fashion industry for many years, so my taste is pretty well honed. I also try to inject a lot of my personal life into my writing and photos, so it's not just some faceless fashion blog that takes itself too seriously.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?

Because otherwise I would drive my friends crazy. Most of them aren't all that interested in fashion, so I have to have some sort of outlet for my obsessions. I also like the idea of documenting the evolution of my style. Some of the stuff I blogged about in 2010 makes me want to barf, which is good — it shows that I've grown!

4. How does my writing/creating process work?

I used to be pretty regimented about posting on my blog, but now I let the spirit move me. For me, blogging is all about having fun and feeling creative–it's not my job. The minute it starts to feel like work is the minute I need to move on to something else.

Next, meet the beautiful Lee of Style Bee.

1. What am I working on?

Well, dull moments certainly seem hard to come by these days! Aside from my full time job in advertising I'm trying to keep Style Bee going strong and forging ahead with a major renovation project at home. For the blog specifically, I'm excited to be woking on a few collaborations and pushing myself to try new ideas. I'm really looking forward to sharing some of our finished reno projects too.

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?

It's been about a year and a half since I started Style Bee but I feel like I've really found my stride in the last few months. I started a Lean Closet Mission at the beginning of the year and it's helped me build a wardrobe that's timeless and versatile. My focus is on buying fewer, better pieces rather than chasing trends and I get a lot of positive feedback from readers about this approach to fashion. I also love discovering unique and talented designers from all over the world rather than sticking to well known name brands. Additionally, I try to switch up the blog with some interior design and recipe inspiration so it's not always just about fashion.

3. Why do I write/create what I do?

I've always loved fashion but never knew quite the right avenue to get involved. The blog lets me get my fashion fix and share my own take on style without any boundaries. Style Bee is a great creative outlet that has turned into a full blown passion. I feel so lucky to have found something that is fulfilling but challenges me and pushes me to follow my instincts.

4. How does your writing/creating process work?

I recently took a blogging course which has helped me streamline my process a lot. I now spend as much time planning my posts as I do creating them. I have a set of post features that are keeping me inspired and I try to focus on content that I'm truly excited to build and share. I look to Pinterest, Instagram, magazines and other blogs to spark ideas and then a look or post evolves from there. Once I have my schedule planned it's mostly about trying to work around a full time job, renovations and the ever elusive weather forecast!

Last, but certainly not least, meet the talented Natalie of Catalina Creative.

1. What am I working on?

This is a bit of a loaded question! Since I keep a full-time job outside of my blog, I'm currently starting a new project with my government contracting firm. I've also just moved to a new apartment in the DC area, so I've been working on getting my room together and just living life as a 24 year old in this gorgeous city! As far as any design work goes, I'm committing most of my free time to helping my family's start up surf company build a great brand and get things together. When it comes to the blog, I can sometimes let life get in the way! It's so hard to keep things going with all the other tasks at hand. However, behind the scenes, I'm always working on posts, gathering items that I find around the web, or just brainstorming new ideas and getting inspired by what's around me!

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?

As far as Catalina Creative goes, I've always aimed to keep things very personal. I want my blog to reflect me and I want everything I share to reflect my style. I feel like I can stand out among others because I only write about things that I truly adore, without doing sponsored or paid posts (if I did, it would have to be for something amazing). I really enjoy that I have a full-time career outside of my personal blog, it takes the pressure off worrying about posting all the time or centering my life around it. I think my readers enjoy my fresh and clean post designs, personal touch, and the simplicity that comes with my website. It's just for fun! I think people see that and are drawn to it. And I'm so thankful for that!

3. Why do I write/create what I do?

I began my blog as a way to simply write again. I majored in Advertising and minored in Writing, and I wasn't getting that creative fulfillment from my job. So - I figured a blog would be a great way to bring that part of my life back! And it truly did. I always create and write for myself first, I never want to worry about what others think. I enjoy fashion, home decor, design, and all those "fun" things about life, so why not share the things I adore and find across the internet! I never want it to be something that's taken too seriously, but I also just really enjoy sharing some personal moments every once in a while. And it's so rewarding when my readers leave such kind responses. I think it's important for every blogger to write for themselves first, then for their readers. I write and create the posts on Catalina Creative because I simply enjoy it, it's fun, and I also just love the creative community and people I've met through it.

4. How does your writing/ creating process work?

Normally my week to week blogging process varies depending on what's going on. I normally always try to pin any links to articles or products that I want to share. I always check Pinterest before bed - there's SO much inspiration there. I always make an attempt to read my favorite blogs to see what people are talking about and also just to to make sure my posts won't be about the same thing. If there's a specific idea I have for a post, I'll just go with it! Pulling products to match the theme or pulling clothing options that I would love to wear, and then I simply just put them together! I normally always use Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for blog posts and always try to make the style consistent with my blog. After I've got the image, I'll just write from my heart and whatever comes to mind flows out onto the post. If it's something very personal, I'll usually wait a few days to post! Just to reread it several times (and because it's scary to get deep and share your life).
